Erin Breen was born and reared in Chicago, Illinois. She understands and sympathizes with winter. In true Midwest fashion, she played sports during the week, and watched sports on the weekends (Go Cubs. Go Bears.). Her athleticism in field hockey scored her a few collegiate scholarships however she passed and hung up her cleats. Although she loved performing from a young age in community theater and school competitions, Breen followed the path of science, math and reasoning through college (much to her parent's delight). She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Civil Engineering. She and numbers, and complex verbiage, get along nicely.
After a few years working both domestically and internationally as a hydraulic engineer, she was determined to regain the artistic side of her life again. Immersing herself in the comedy and acting scene in Chicago, Breen has found herself with a rising film and television career. In the last year alone, she has recurred on HBO's Silicon Valley and NBC's Chicago Fire.
Breen graduated from the prestigious Second City Conservatory Program (Chicago), iO Chicago, UCB and continues to advance at Groundlings (LA). She studied Meisner at the Ruskin Theater in Santa Monica, CA. Most recently, Erin relocated to New York City, where she continues to study at UCB.
Alongside her acting career, Erin continues to maintain an active lifestyle and love of the outdoors. She hikes a section of the John Muir Trail each summer (~35 miles each), and recently mountain biked through the Moab desert on the White Rim Trail (100 miles of sore bum). There isn't an adventure she has refused.
